What is LEAD?
LEAD is a four-phase leadership development program for Sigma NU collegians. It was initiated in 1988 and is now used at all Sigma Nu chapter worldwide. Each phase focuses on different topics that are applicable to what you are doing in school and with the organizations in which you're involved.
LEAD sessions are interactive and utilize experiential learning activities, simulatons, case studies and discussion to highlight issue you will face as a leader and brother. You'll learn by doing. Sessions are facilitated bu outstanding universities faculty and staff, talented upperclass collegians and local alumni. The facilitators make the sessions interesting and relate ideas back to the leadership issues you will face in teh chapter and in other student organzations.
As a new member (Candidate), you'll participate in Phae I of the LEAD Prgram. You will:
- Study the basics of leadership
- Acquire knowledge about the national and local history of Sigma Nu Fraternity
- Experience team building and other retreats to get your candidate class working together
- Learn about ethics and clarify your values
- Find out how to work best with different personalities
- Master how to effectively plan projects and delegate tasks
- Understand what makes Sigma Nu different, our core values of love, truth and honor
- Discover how to manage your time and balance your busy schedule
- Learn how to be successful academically
